Merry Christmas (Eve)

Merry Christmas Eve everyone! Chris and I both wish we could be there for the Johnson family party. I think the last time I was there for Christmas was in 1990. All I remember is a lot of noise, a lot of wrapping paper, and a lot of fun. I hope someone takes pictures of all of the new members of the family, young and old, and posts them here for us to see. We wish everyone a safe and happy Christmas!

Hints for surviving Jerry's Christmas Eve interview

10. Don't fake it - WE CAN TELL!
9. Smile - but not too much. I've always suspected that when someone over smiles they
probably wet their pants and are trying to hide the fact that they are FAKING IT.
8. Avoid the UM word, as in "I, um, like, um, um, being out of school, uncle Jerry."
7. Make eye contact with Grandma. If you blow this one you might not make it back next year
6. Don't step on a little kid on your way up to or back from the interview. I know, almost
impossible, but try.
5. Don't drool, pick your nose, or scratch an itch. No further explaination needed.
4. Try rephrasing Jerry's questions into questions of your own, like "How serious do YOU
think our relationship is?"
3. Try to be part of a "group" interview. Let the others do all the talking.
2. Throwing wrapping paper anytime, especially during an interview, is strickly prohibitive.
1. Remember, we're not laughing WITH you, we're laughing AT you.

CHRISTMAS EVE---CAN'T WAIT!

Well, its my second year now and I can't wait to see everyone---and see if I remember all the names :) Its only like 100 people or so right???!!!

See you all tomorrow night!

Merry Christmas

We don't have a good picture of our award winning Christmas tree, but we do have a picture of two beautiful girls in their Christmas outfits. Merry Christmas everyone, and we'll see you on Christmas Eve. Dave & Ceci Roberts

BEST LOOKING FAMILY CHRISTMAS TREE

This is so far the winning entry in the Johnson family blog Christmas tree contest. You will note that it is an average size tree, but real, and not overburdened with ornaments or tinsel. It sits in a corner, away from the window, so our neighbors do not feel bad about what they are displaying. I'll admit, the angel could use some improvement since it was store bought some years ago, but the mirrored background adds a luster of midday to the somewhat empty backside. This is the winner because it is the only Christmas tree displayed, although if Marni decorates that big tree outside her house I just might be inclined to vote for it.

Levi Scranton

Hi Everybody!
This is such an awesome idea, Missy!
I wanted to post a few pics of our little man, Levi....

Levi and Daddy....He's smiling lots now and cooing all the time!

Hmmm...I wonder where he gets his huge blue eyes? :)
Take care, all, and we'll see you at Grandma's on the Eve!
Love,

Marni and Chris pictures

Hi everyone! I am very impressed that the good old Johnson family has gone high tech :) I've thought about doing something like this for a while so thanks to Missy for actually following through! I love getting to see everyone's pictures that I otherwise wouldn't see. The new kids are soooooooo cute! Chris and I hope to make it out sometime soon to see everyone. Luckily, dad has kept us updated with loads of pictures from every wedding. Here are some pictures of what has been happening in good old Colorado:

Here is a picture of our new house in Westminster (halfway between Denver and Boulder). We have been busy remodeling with mom and dad's expertise.

Here is a funny picture of me driving at an autocross this summer. Basically autocross is a car race in a giant parking lot (this particular one is at a lot at the airport) -- you have to drive around a course made of cones and you are racing against the clock. We are driving our ghetto little $500 Colt, but even in that, Chris and I have both beaten $50,000+ cars. (notice that I only have three wheels on the ground :)).

Lastly, here's our Golden puppy Turbo. He's a little over a year and a good combination of naughty and cute. Lisa (this is Todd's Lisa, right?) -- your new puppy is absolutely adorable. Gotta love the peeing-in-the-house stage!

There's a quick wrap-up on the last year and a half since we saw some of you at the wedding. Feel free to take a trip out here to Colorado, we now have a few spare bedrooms for people to stay in!

Pam & Gregg's Wedding

Here are a few pictures from Pammy's wedding over labor day. As you can see, it was a typical Johnson Family wedding. Uncle Jim is taking pictures, and people are cutting a rug on the dance floor. It was a great time for everyone!!

Cookie Party Inspiration

We know that Missy has her annual cookie party tonight. So, here are two pictures from the Johnson (of 6140 Baywood) cookie party. The first picture shows the cookies that have made it through to the final round of Jerry's on-the-spot elimination rules.

The second picture shows David, winner of best and top three worst cookies, holding up his innovative inverted sprinkle Christmas tree.

Sydney Noella Kuipers

Hi Everyone -
Here is a picture of little Sydney Noella (a.k.a. "Snowella"). She weighed 8 lbs and was 19 inches long. She is a great baby and Raleigh loves her a lot. She always wants to hold her sister and give her hugs. I'll put more pictures of her on later.

Hello everyone. Missy breezed in earlier today and breathlessly "explained" how to do something called BLOGING (blogging?) http/etc. Well now that just about messes up my hours of freecelling.

Anyway, thought you would enjoy a photo of a PTO Shaft, something different than endless people, people, people photos. This is actually a shot of an item that I have been selling on eBay and my learning curve on eBay has been a great help in understanding how to BLOG (apparently not enough to send people photos).
This is great because at this moment my other choice would be to watch a movie that Missy brought over tonight called MARCH OF THE PENGUINS. I think its a little like PRIDE AND PREJUDICE except the actors are in tuxes instead of 18th century garb. Hi to everyone. I'm doing a study on grace and so to part remember Psalm 45, talking about the messianic king,
You are fairer than the sons of men, grace is poured upon your lips, therefore God has blessed you forever.

A Real Picture of Mallory

Here is a real picture of Mallory.

Ceci

Hello everyone, it's Mallory the Pirate Pig. Here she is healthy and 7 months old. This blog is going to be so much fun. See you on Christmas Eve.

Ceci

As my first post I wanted to put a picture of Todd and my new puppy, Lieucius (pronounced Looshus)---he is a little 7-week old westie and we just love him! He is making a nice addition to our "family" and peeing all over the place!!! In our new house of all things :)

Welcome to our own Johnson Family Blog! A blog is a way to put information and pictures on the internet so everyone can see it. (Think of it as a big bulletin board). Only people who are invited can add to the blog- so if I don't have your e-mail adress, let me know. Anyone can view this blog. Just go to the internet and type in www.wintonavenue.blogspot.com

Here is a picture of Daphne, Raleigh, and Elliana at Halloween this year. Sorry the picture is so small-- but I think you can see the general cuteness of my nieces.

Hopefully, we will all have fun with this. Grandma does not have a computer at her house- but I would like for her to be able to view the blog whenever she visits a place that has the internet.

love and blessings to you all!!
