Tyler--We're routing for you. Our prayers are with you.
Blessings!

Comments:
For those of us who live far away and rely on this site for family 'gossip' what's going on with Tyler?

I believe he is having rods put in his back. I for some reason thought it was yesterday, but I could be wrong. At any rate, we are praying hard for a very speedy recovery!

We hope you feel better soon, Tyler!!

Here's a copy of an e-mail mom sent out if you didn't get it: Tyler had a really good night! They did something with his nerves so
he wasn't in much pain, but whatever they did will wear off in a day
or two. He only pushed the pain button once. Jayne didn't get much
sleep, but Tyler did great! He'll be in the hospital a week
(Bronson). His face is swollen...they said like Joyce on
steroids...but that's normal and may get worse before it gets better,
but both Joyce and Jayne thought it got better overnight.

Here's what they did in a nutshell...the heart surgeon went in and
moved his organs and then the spine doctor put bone chips around the
spine. Then they turned him over and the spine doctor put screws in
each of 9 vertebrae and then attached rods on both sides of the
vertebrae. Jayne said the his spine was like a reversed S and the
top was fused earlier and that won't get any worse, it will stay
where it is. This operation striaghtened the bottom curve. The
doctor was very careful to straighten in such a way that Tyler's
shoulders should stay even. He told Jayne she wouldn't notice the
difference until he stands up...then they'll notice. But it will be
a big difference for Tyler being straight, so that will take some
getting used to. Kids are so resilient, that I'm sure it won't be a
problem for very long. He'll be out of school a month, and that
includes the week in the hospital and can't do sports for 6 months.
But it sounds like everything went just great!!!

Keep the prayers coming! Love and hugs, Jennifer

Tyler-
I heard you're doing really well! I'm praying for you!

Way to go put my piddily spinal fusion to shame Tyler! I'm proud of you, and can't wait to "compare scars" Hang in there

I just got a voice mail from Jayne and Tyler is doing great! He rarely asks for morphine, and the doctors are amazed that he's not crying in pain. She said that he's just fine when he's laying down....HUGE answer to prayer! Keep sending 'em up for him!

Congrats Tyler!
