An email from Pam and Greg

Thought I would post an email that Greg and Pam sent me:

Hello all,

On the first of August a little before two in the afternoon, our little girl took her first breath. The joy we experienced at seeing our eight pound one ounce girl was spiked with an unexpected concern. She did not cry. This alarmed the nurses to the point that after a few short moments, our caressing was ended, and our little girl was carried away to be examined.

As you can imagine, the next few hours were stressful for us. When we discovered our baby was going to be hooked up to oxygen, an IV, and numerous sensors, our hearts broke. Over the next week Elin Nancy Moore grew stronger and stronger. Mid way through our week long stay at the hospital, Elin was taken off the oxygen. And about five days in, she was receiving enough from her mom to be taken off the IV and allowed to come to our room. The transition to home was made Monday morning. Elin is a normal, healthy baby girl; who is being loved by her parents, and her Grandma Johnson (who is the first of the grands to make it out).

More pictures and information to follow.

From the Moore family.
