Prayer Request

There's a young boy, Marco Galicia-15 months, in my church who was diagnosed with Leukemia nearly a year ago. Since we started to pray for him, the doctors have not found a cell of Leukemia in his body. They have continued the whole course of Chemo to make sure that the Leukemia is destroyed completely. Last week was his last in-patient treatment. He hasn't responded well and ended up in the ICU last night, he's on a respirator which is helping him breath, and we got a call at work today that he was "coding" which means that his heart had stopped and they were trying to get it working again. Please keep Marco and the Galicia family in prayer. I will post more when information becomes available.

Comments:
I'm praying for him and his family, Becky. I'll put him on the prayer request list for my Bible study on Friday, too....

Thanks Kristen.

Here's the latest update I have for tonight. They've stabilized his condition and have him in a medically induced coma in order to keep him stable. Also, while he was coding today his Pulse ox (a measure to determine the percentage of oxygen in your blood---we like to see it at 97-100%) dropped to around 10% for about a half an hour. This means that his brain and other vital organs were deprived of oxygen for some time. We're praying that the Lord protected these areas during these low saturations, and that if damage was done---that the Lord will do a creative miracle and restore all function and cell life to be as it should be. Thanks again to everyone who's praying. I'll keep posting.

We will pray for a miracle:)

Becky, the mother of a kid I was doing a road test for yesterday mentioned out of the blue that her son had fallen into a neighbors swimming pool when he was a little boy and when they found him he was unconsious. It was in November which they figured saved his life. He completly recovered (and passed his test). Odd timing on hearing that story, wouldn't you say? Also yesterday I was reading from Luke 7, thought about it this morning in the shower, about the centurion who sends servants to Jesus to ask for healing for a slave . . . "say only the word and he will be healed." The next little story in Luke is also interesting. Love, Dad

Funny that you read the same chapter that I was reading a couple of days ago. We were praying along the same lines last night.
**UPDATE**
Marco has been stable today, on a respirator/life support, but today he started to buck the respirator which means that he was trying to breath on his own. That is a good sign. They did cardiac tests today and there is NO evidence of organ damage that they can find. Those are all good signs. Marco is still in critical condition, but there have been more good reports than bad since we began to pray. Thanks again, keep praying, and PRAISE THE LORD!

More news about Marco. One of the life-threatening virus' that they had diagnosed him with came back with negative results today. The doctors are baffled. His blood gases are still not what they should be, but his lung x-rays are coming back clearer and they are able to take more appropriate measures to regulate these as well. He has other signs of improvement, which is good. Please keep praying. God is doing creative miracles in that boy.

After a rough weekend, and doctors telling the family that he wouldn't last the day, Marco is doing a bit better. He's on a lung by-pass machine called "echmo", but the suspected complications are minimal. They are weaning him off the drug induced coma that he has been in, and yesterday he was trying to open his eyes when people were singing/talking to him, and was squeezing people's hands. He has a long way to go, and still isn't out of the woods, but is doing better. Please keep praying for him.
